Welcome to Cairns Men's Shed

The basic premise of our shed is to provide an informal location where men in the Cairns community can spend time relaxing or engage in manual crafts such as wood-working, metal working or the restoration of old furniture, toys, machinery etc. We also have a computer room with Internet access, a library and a relaxing social area.

Our shed is a place for men of all ages to be socially active and form friendships, discover new opportunities and activities in retirement, or during their leisure time.

Members range from skilled craftsmen to men who are using tools or taking on an activity for the first time. The Shed is what you make of it, you can bring along your own project, help others with theirs or just do nothing.

The shed is officially open most days apart from Sundays and public holidays  from 8 am to 12 noon and you can attend as little or often as you like.   Saturdays we close at 12 noon (power tools can not be used after 12.00 noon)

Meetings are held on each Tuesday at 9.30 am and that’s probably the best time to call by and say hello.

The annual subscription is currently  $35  plus there is an application fee of $50.
